My artwork is an experience and a spontaneous journey that I share with the materials. A large component of my work is the manipulation of materials and redefining the surface space. My mind's ongoing curiosity with the palette, patterns and textures of Mother Nature guide me throughout the processes.
The process of my work both two-dimensional and three-dimensional relies on performance in which I use my body as the applier of mediums and gesture of emotion. I work with a thoughtful palette, concentrating on colors to visually engage my audience. Forms, shapes, and lines portrayed in my work are derived from the spontaneous integration of the medium along with the movements of my body and the reaction I share with the surface space. Giving little information about the actually process of the work(s), allows the viewer to experience an open interpretation of the piece.
My work relates to that of Abstract Expressionist in the sense of making a unique personal connection to the world by color, form, and texture, straying away from making any known descriptions. Wassily Kandinsky whose spiritual color theory has an ever-lasting impact on my work.
